Community Speedwatch

Speedwatch is a Police Neighbourhood Scheme working with New Forest District Council and residents of Sandleheath and neighbouring villages to reduce speeding in our area and educate drivers to respect the speed limit. Volunteers are trained by Hampshire Police to operate speed monitoring equipment which has been purchased by a group of Parish Councils. Sites where Speedwatch can operate are approved by the police and the control room is notified whenever an exercise takes place. Details of motorists recorded as speeding are notified to to Hampshire Police who will warn the offending driver. Repeat offenders may be liable to further investigation and possible prosecution. If you wish to register as a Speedwatch Volunteer, please contact a member of the Parish Council.
